Currently, we are accepting gently used book donations and monetary donations for new books. These contributions will go directly to various NYC community center’s early childhood and pre-school programs. More information on how you can get involved on instagram.
Books for Displaced Children in LA
Covers for Recovery is so grateful to the Marymount Community for its book donations for our drive serving shelters for displaced families in LA. Over 600 books were collected and sent to 18 family shelters for the children to have as they begin to rebuild their lives.
2024 New York Hospital Drive
This year, we expanded our reach to serve seven hospital partners in NYC, as well as in the Long Island, and Westchester area. Additionally, winning the first place $5,000 grant in the Frigo Cheesehead Build a Bright Future and being a finalist in the Atherton Award allowed Covers for Recovery to expand its outreach and provide new books to accomodate to specific needs of hospitals. These opportunities, along with the invaluable guidance we received in expanding our charity, networking, and fundraising efforts, have helped us grow and make a greater impact in the communities we serve.
2023 NYC Hospital Drive
Thanks to the support of our community and raising social media awareness, we raised $1,300. Using this, Covers for Recovery was able to become a registered 501c3 and sent 500 gently used and new childrens’ books to 7 different New York City hospitals. We also partnered with childrens’ book author Renée Watson who donated 25 books and supported our cause.
